One appliance, one figure. A single oven in Dalston is £77, a double £110, and a 90cm range or a two oven AGA £143 each. A hob taken right down is £23 and an extractor is £28. Anything that comes free of the appliance is taken off and soaked: shelves, trays, runners, pan supports, the fan cover. What is bolted in place gets worked by hand at the cooker, and you can use it that evening.

What comes out, and what is worked where it stands
Shelves, side runners, the grill pan, the pan supports and the fan cover come out first and are left soaking. Most door glass lifts out of the frame, which is the only honest way to reach the film that builds between the panes. Inside the cavity it is a gel, a scraper and time, and time is the part everybody underestimates. Some of our cleaners bring a heated tank on the van and put the parts in it if they can park near the door; the rest do the soaking in your kitchen, at the same price. Ask on the phone if you mind which. The cavity is wiped out and dried before anybody leaves, so nothing sits there to burn off later, which is why the oven will cook your dinner the same night.
The hob at £23 and the extractor at £28
These two get forgotten at the booking and then asked for at the door, so they are worth stating. A hob at £23 means the burners, caps and pan supports off and soaking with the racks, the surround degreased and the ignition points cleared. Ceramic and induction tops get a blade and a cream rather than anything aggressive, because the printed markings scratch off and never come back. An extractor at £28 is the filters out and the canopy degreased. Metal mesh filters get a long soak and come back looking like new. Ask for the hood when you ring rather than when we arrive, because it adds twenty minutes to the slot.
Ranges and AGAs
A 90cm range at £143 has two cavities and often a griddle plate, and a griddle that has been used hard can add an hour on its own. A two oven AGA at £143 has to be completely cold on arrival, which means switching it off the evening before and booking at least a day ahead. Neither of those shows up often in a flat conversion. They turn up in the whole houses over towards De Beauvoir Town and in the bigger family terraces up in Stoke Newington, where a kitchen was fitted for a household rather than for a share.
Landlord cookers, and what several tenancies do to them
A steady share of the oven diary is appliances that came with the flat: whatever was fitted when the kitchen went in, cleaned properly once every couple of years at best. Those come up better than their owners expect, and the soak does most of the work. Anything at all is worth a look before it gets written off. Nothing here is too far gone to try.
Catalytic and pyrolytic linings
Rough matt panels on the back and sides of a cavity are catalytic liners. They burn deposits off on their own at high heat and scrubbing wrecks them, so we clean around them, say they are there and suggest running the oven hot for an hour instead. Pyrolytic ovens are a similar case, since the cavity looks after itself, which means what you are paying for on one of those is the door glass, the seals, the racks and the frame the door sits in. If you do not know which sort you have, the model number tells us in a minute.
How long the kitchen is out of use
A single oven left a year takes roughly two hours on site. A double runs to three. A range with a griddle can go beyond that. The kitchen does not need to be empty and nobody needs to be in the flat, though the oven does need to be cool, so switch it off a couple of hours before the slot. A hob and an extractor added to an oven booking make it one longer visit rather than two separate ones, and a single oven with the extractor comes to £105 in the same slot.
In a move-out the cooker is a line on top of the band
The banded move-out figure, from £156 for a studio, covers the flat, and on a handover the oven joins it as a £31 line, since the appliance prices above are for an oven booked alone. A studio with its oven comes to £187, and a two bedroom flat with one to £274. Whether it is joining the visit gets settled on the booking call rather than on the doorstep at half seven on the morning the keys go back. Booked as part of a team deep clean the oven is also charged apart, at the full £77 or £110, because the oven gets the same hand clean and soak either way.
A hob at £23 sits best alongside the oven, since one off work starts from £67. The complete list is on the prices page, the round itself is mapped on the areas page, and a person picks up 020 8077 6967 from 8am to 7pm, seven days.
Questions we get asked
How much does oven cleaning cost in Dalston?
A single oven is £77, a double £110, a 90cm range £143 and a two oven AGA the same £143. A hob is £23 and an extractor £28. Each figure covers the cavity, the seals, the door glass and every part that lifts out to be soaked.
Can I use the oven the same evening?
Yes. The racks soak while we work on the cavity, which is wiped out and dried before we leave. Nothing is left behind to burn off, and leaving a window open for a bit clears any smell.
Do you clean the extractor hood as well?
For £28, yes. Metal mesh filters soak alongside the racks and come out like new, and the canopy is degreased.
Is the oven included in an end of tenancy clean?
It joins the fixed move-out price from £156 as its own line, £31, done on the same visit.
What is an AGA clean and why does it need notice?
£143 for a two oven AGA, and it has to be stone cold before anybody opens it, so switch it off the evening before and book a day ahead. It takes longer than a conventional double because the enamel and the lids are all hand work.
