Hoxton is our furthest run south: N1, past Haggerston towards Shoreditch, with Hoxton Square and the Museum of the Home on Kingsland Road. A one bedroom move-out is £207, and £238 if the oven needs doing as well. The North Shoreditch zone is controlled until midnight, so evening bookings suit Hoxton well.
Short lets and a four hour window
A good share of Hoxton flats are let short, so the clean has to land between one set of keys coming back and the next going out. Sometimes that window is four hours. A banded move-out price suits that better than an hourly job, because the figure is settled before anybody arrives rather than worked out as the clock runs. A studio at £156 or a one bedroom at £207 is two to three hours for a pair of cleaners, and we send a pair, who can strip and remake beds, do a bathroom and finish a kitchen comfortably inside four hours.
The blocks behind the square
The ex-council flats off Hoxton Street are the steady half of the work here. Sealed floors, a lift in most of them, and turnover much slower than the short lets, so some of these are addresses we have been going to for years. Weekly housework in one is usually three hours, the shortest visit we book, which is £69 at £23 per cleaner per hour, or £72 if you would rather have it fortnightly at £24. Ironing goes on top at £12 an hour.
Warehouse flats and the goods lift
The converted units around here carry the same awkwardness as the ones behind Kingsland High Street. Three or four floors, a goods lift in most, and a service door that is often locked at weekends. Heavy kit goes up in pieces. Oven work is the easiest job in one of those buildings, because it needs the least kit of anything we do and the work happens at the cooker: £77 for a single, £110 for a double, £23 for a hob and £28 for an extractor.
Museum of the Home and the traffic round it
Kingsland Road through this stretch is one of the roads where the sat-nav and the law disagree. Hackney has more than 140 camera-enforced traffic filters across the borough and the route into a Hoxton side street often runs through one of them, so the driver may arrive from a direction that makes no sense on a map. It costs a few minutes and nothing on the invoice. Where a job is tied to a handover time, say so and the slot gets built backwards from it.

In pieces up the stairs, unless the goods lift is open. Mention the floor and the lift when you book so the slot is long enough. It changes the time set aside rather than the price.
